Just having fun with some of the elements in the room at the moment. By next week I hope to have the entire upstairs room textured.

I've also been working on some modeling for the downstairs environment and replacing the proxy geometry there with some props that are slightly more detailed. Here's the progress I have on that

For now, there's no super in-depth or technical updates to my project as whole since it's less R&D at the moment. As I move forward past class 5, I hope to start fine tuning some parts of the actual Rube Goldberg machine that need some more attention.

My team, Team Future, has been working together over the last week to create a cohesive story. Our commercial, "The Power of Imagination", focuses on the imagination of a young child. The child's drawings are full of magic and bring their toy car to life.

So far, we are drawing reference heavily from Ant-man and the Wasp and Back to the Future for general guidance on look development. For a closer look into our ideas, I've attached our pitch below.

My goal for this week is to focus on the magic particles arising from the sketchbook pages. I added preliminary particles in our previs video just for the sake of showing where they would occur, but they are far from perfect. Our team as a whole will be shooting the background plates and hope to have a more clear and solidified previs as soon as possible.

As I'm getting the hang of Substance Painter again, I've started texturing some assets in my opening scene. Here's some still shots:

Obviously, I've still got quite a bit more to do in the bedroom, but I think that I'm already getting quicker with painting/texture creation. I do have some experiments going with procedural shaders in Redshift, but so far haven't gotten anything I really like enough to use.
