About
Elizabeth House is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Effects with a minor in dance. She currently resides in London, Kentucky and is pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching degree at the University of the Cumberlands with a concentration in P-12 Art Education.
Elizabeth loves anything crafty and spends her free time doing activities like quilting, embroidering, and playing video games. My teaching philosophy is centered around accessibility for all students. I believe that every student is capable of learning and each student has their own unique strengths and interests. It is my goal as a new teacher to be able to assess a classroom and present information in a myriad of ways so that every student has an equal opportunity to understand and retain content. In my experience, the most successful and happiest students are when I am able to meet them with understanding and adapt my teaching style to meet their needs.
I structure my classroom through several series of scaffolding, starting with basic knowledge of art methods, techniques, and materials. Everything new my class learns from there connects back to that basic foundation and understanding of fundamentals. My end goal for a class is to have enough knowledge and experience to be able to take their skills and create without technical barriers.
